Foundation Communities is anxious to start building a new multi-story apartment building on Lamar Square. First, we need to hire a Construction Manager at Risk to help us determine the best construction processes for the site, consult on the design and help us estimate the construction costs. This could lead to even more opportunities as our organization continues to grow. Qualified firms must submit the following RFP by Tuesday, October 8th at 5pm. https://ow.ly/YF2950TpGam

Foundation Communities would not be as successful as it is at reducing our greenhouse gas emissions without the support of people like Rep. Lloyd Doggett. For years our Congressman has been instrumental in helping us secure funding to install solar panels on our affordable apartment communities. He spoke at our sustainability event today. #affordability #affordablehousing #sustainability

One of the speakers at our sustainability event today at Homestead Oaks was Maria T. Vargas. Vargas is a Senior Program Advisor at the Department of Energy and the Director of DOE’s Better Buildings Initiative. She recognized Foundation Communities as a standout housing organization in the DOE’s Better Climate Challenge. #affordablehousing #affordability #sustainability

Today we celebrated the progress Foundation Communities has made toward our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions at our affordable housing communities and offices in Austin and North Texas by 50 percent over 10 years. Foundation Communities has already achieved more than 36 percent emissions reduction using solar panels and other initiatives. The commitment is part of our involvement in the US Department of Energy's Better Climate Challenge. We appreciate Rep. Lloyd Doggett and officials with the US Departments of Energy and Housing and Urban Development for recognizing our progress, and for joining us on a tour of our Homestead Oaks Apartments.
