This Halloween, my grandma had a wonderful time joining others for trick-or-treat at her nursing home. Seeing her smile was a reminder of why I am so committed to improving the lives of those in long-term care. Moments like these are only possible because of dedicated staff who go the extra mile to create them.
A huge thank you to the team at Golden Years Foundations Health Solutions.

Hurricane Helene has impacted hundreds of thousands of people across the east coast since it touched down in September. With many left stranded without heat, electricity, or access to food and shelter, many have been left desperate for support. As part of a culture of care, we pride ourselves on stepping up to the plate and helping those in need. That's why when teams from Glen Meadows, Terrace View Gardens, and Taylor's Pointe heard the news, they immediately jumped into action to be a lifeline for anyone they can help.
Organized by the ‘Butler County to Appalachia’ effort, we contributed to donations of medical supplies, solar lanterns, coats, blankets, walkers, canes, adult briefs, batteries, flashlights, water, generators, and chainsaws. Starting in Polecreek Baptist Church in Candler, the team drove 2 hours up a mountain over electric lines and trees to Cloudland Baptist Church, where they stayed the night. They ended the trip at Silverados in Swanannoa, North Carolina.
We are proud of our journey thus far, but the fight is not over. Each town is in a different phase of rebuilding, and there is an ongoing need for heaters, propane tanks, and WATER as we gear up for the winter. If you are interested in joining us in donating to this cause, please contact Jowanna Webber at jowanna.webber@foundationshealth.net for more information.
IT'S OFFICIAL! BENNINGTON GLEN IS PART OF THE FOUNDATIONS FAMILY!!
We had an some absolutely wonderful meetings today with the staff at Bennington Glen in Marengo, Ohio, to introduce Foundations Health Solutions to them and ask any questions they might have about the transition to Foundation on December 1st. Bennington Glen has an amazing reputation, and we are excited to build on it with our Culture of Care. Chlark Guelos will be the Regional Director of Operations, and the staff already have warmed up to him.
The first Picture is from our 6:30am staff meeting. The second picture is me with Betty Newcomer, a resident at Bennington Glen that is an AMAZING artist, you can see one of her paintings in the third picture. The last picture if with me, Chlark and Peggy Dearth, the current owner of Bennington Glen.

An immense privilege to support this extremely important cause by fundraising throughout the year, sharing stories to spread awareness and to cherish memories, and by showing up as a team and as a part of our much larger community on Walk to End Alzheimer’s Day.
Congratulations to Josie Peck, LNHA , Kaycee Campbell, and the Foundations Health Solutions Team Landings of Westerville for raising roughly $1,600 (!!!) this year in partnership with the Westerville community via bake sales, blood drives, t-shirt sales, and more for the Alzheimer's Association® ! Team Landings’ never-ending efforts highlight their dedication to the residents they serve by helping fund critical research and patient/family support in pursuit of the ultimate goal: one day, a cure for Alzheimer’s.

Gene Kaufman, a beloved resident of Mentor Ridge for over five years and current Resident Council President, recently had a long-held dream fulfilled through our Golden Grant Program. Decades ago, Gene was a drag racer, and his wish was to relive the thrill one more time. We partnered with Thompson Raceway Park in Ohio, who graciously helped bring his wish to life.
He shared that it stirred up countless memories from his racing days, remarking how much faster the cars are now. It was a loud and exhilarating experience, one that left him beaming. By honoring our residents' wishes through our Golden Grant Program, we remind our residents that their passions and dreams still matter, reinforcing that their lives are full of value and meaning.
Swinging for a Cause: Supporting Veterans and Alzheimer's Care in Ashtabula County!
Foundations Health Solutions raised $7,000 at our charity golf outing to benefit the Ashtabula MC Veterans Club and the Foundations Alzheimer's Walk Team in Ashtabula County. These funds will provide crucial assistance to veterans in need and support efforts in Alzheimer's research and care.
The excitement and pride in being able to make such a significant contribution to the community are palpable, and the team is already looking forward to next year's event. Foundations Health is committed to continuing its support for local causes and making a positive impact in Ashtabula County.
Today, I hung out with one of our awesome Foundations Health Solutions nursing homes as we enjoyed their new Virtual Reality system! We jammed out with light sabers, used swords to slice fruit in Fruit Ninja, and got to be inside some 360 degree interactive movies. I had a blast with some super cool residents and teammates and loved seeing the joy in each of their faces. Good times!
Supporting our employees and their families is at the heart of our mission. Our Back-to-School Backpack Giveaways are a true reflection of our Culture of Care, making a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents, employees, and the community. Seeing the joy on our staff's children's faces as they received their customized backpacks and school supplies was priceless. Here's to a fantastic school year ahead for all the little ones!
Our Foundations Health Solutions teammates in Baltic, OH took residents to “The Farm” in Walnut Creek for a 1 hour wagon ride where you can pet and feed many different animals like cows, pigs, goats, horses, donkeys, giraffes, bison, water buffalo, macaw birds, ostriches, emus, kangaroos, llamas, camels, and zebras. That’s Foundations and that’s how Oak Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center does activities on a regular basis. Wonderful people doing great things with beautiful residents. If you’re like me and you needed a smile today - here you go!
