#DataManagement, #OMERO, #OMEZarr, and global data sharing were key topics at an impactful event focused on microscopy data management and hands-on practice at Trends in Microscopy 2025 (#TiM2025), organized by German BioImaging. In addition to bringing our poster, we had the opportunity to attend a valuable talk by Matthew Hartley on Global image data sharing and the updated BioImage Archive, as well as engaging workshops, including: 1️⃣ Data Stewardship in Microscopy – Led by Tom Boissonnet, Dr. Ksenia Krooß (Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf - Lehrstuhl für BWL, insb. Finanzdienstleistungen), and Jens Wendt (University of Münster), this workshop explored importing data into #OMERO and the #OMEZarr cloud-ready format, along with hands-on #metadata annotation in OMERO using the REMBI methodology. 2️⃣ Data Management at France-BioImaging – Led by Guillaume Gay (France-BioImaging), this session explored the "Investigation, Study, Assay" hierarchy used at France BioImaging and the emerging role of semantic web technologies in the imaging community. 3️⃣ OMERO-metrics: Quality Control at the Microscope – Led by Julio Mateos Langerak (CNRS), this workshop showcased OMERO-metrics, a web application that leverages #OMERO data management capabilities to standardize metrology analysis procedures. The tool provides an intuitive dashboard for Imaging Core Facilities to enhance quality assessment workflows in microscopy. As discussions on #metadata standards, image data #interoperability, and global sharing unfolded at #TiM2025, it became clear that these challenges are of great importance for the imaging community. We’re excited to integrate these insights into our ongoing work and continue fostering an open and interoperable future for bioimaging.
