    At FourFront our team is keeping an eye on developments related to the #GoogleLeaks and the ongoing antitrust lawsuit (Google is now officially a monopoly, FYI!). One interesting insight has been the "NavBoost" system that we now know Google uses to help rank websites. One way it does this is tracking how users behave after clicking a search result. Do they come back quickly to go to another site? (This is a "bad click.") Do they stay on that site for a while? (This is a "good click.") Ideally, your site gets a high number of "last longest clicks" which is a metric that measures the last webpage users spend the most time on within a search session. Additionally, we now also know that Google Chrome is also tracking user behavior and using those data signals to further improve Google Search's ability to determine rankings. The quick mockup below illustrates one simple way to turn these insights into strategy for your website: If you can not only meet the user requirements by aligning your content with the intent behind the target keywords, BUT ALSO try to keep them engaged on the site, this should improve your ability to rank highly on Google. #google #userflow #userexperience #uxandseo

    I’d like to think that I’m in the minority of people who don’t inherently hate Google. Even if their recent antitrust ruling made me smile a bit. But, I’m really interested to see how SearchGPT - OpenAI’s new search engine prototype - evolves in the coming months. I’ve had the chance to play with it over the last few days and I’m really impressed with it’s ➾ Real-time information ➾ Custom response formats depending on the type of query you ask ➾ Ability to remember past queries, making the experience feel super personalized. While it’s far from a finished product, it’s been refreshing to get quick and simple answers to what I’m searching for. Something that you don't always get on Google Search.
