From designing greener transit systems to creating accessible, people-centered spaces, each of our projects strengthens the livability, environmental health, social equity, and economic vitality of our communities. Today and every day, we remain dedicated to exclusively promoting eco-friendly transportation solutions that drive a sustainable future.

Though #EnergyAwarenessMonth is ending, we remain committed to energy-efficient transportation. We began our focus on energy analysis seven years ago through a partnership with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to audit their system’s energy intensity with eyes to opening the door to exploring technologies that are now standard, but at the time were assumed to be the future. We analyzed operational improvements like bus priority for fuel and energy savings and evaluated alternative fuels, including the newly emerging (at the time) #BatteryElectricBuses (BEBs). This early work continues to guide our ongoing efforts in energy efficiency and green transportation solutions. #Sustainability #GreenTranportation #BEBs

October is #NationalPedestrianSafetyMonth, and with Halloween just around the corner it’s the perfect time to focus on keeping our streets safe for pedestrians—especially the little witches and ghosts out trick-or-treating! Foursquare ITP's #ActiveTransportation work creates safer options for pedestrians. From evaluating sidewalk networks and identifying gaps, to creating bicycle level of stress maps, to creating plans for shared and complete streets, we’re committed to making our streets welcoming for everyone—no matter the season. Earlier this month, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT)'s goDCgo program was honored with the 2024 Commuter Connections Employer Services Organization Achievement Award! Congratulations to our team at goDCgo who, in FY24, helped provide nearly 200 instances of compliance assistance related to the DC Parking Cashout Law. They also hosted webinars, virtual office hours, and forums to help employers enhance their commuter benefits programs and promote sustainable commuting options!
