On October 17th, I was honored to provide remarks at the annual gala of the French American Chamber of Commerce Atlanta Southeast. This inspiring evening celebrated the enduring ties between our two nations, with distinguished guests of honor #WWII veteran Hilbert Margol and Navy SEAL and #Paralympic medallist Dan Cnossen. Congratulations to the Crystal Peach Awards recipients! 🏆 Michelin – Corporate Social Responsibility Award - David Chapman 🏆 Boehringer Ingelheim – VIE Commitment Award - Kathrin Carpenter 🏆 Delta Air Lines – French-American Bridge Building Award - Bob Somers 🏆 Virginie Durr 🇫🇷 ✈️🇺🇸 – FACC Award for Excellence for her tireless support of the French community, especially WWII veterans On October 18th, I kicked off a panel discussion at the Metro Atlanta Chamber, entitled "#Invest in #France: Your Gateway to #Europe," organized in partnership with Business France, French American Chamber of Commerce Atlanta Southeast, the CCE USA South East - French Foreign Trade Advisors and La French Tech Atlanta. Honoring the French Embassy Grant Awardees in the Southeast! Last week, as France hosted the 19th #Francophonie Summit, I had the pleasure of organizing a celebration for the recipients of the French in Higher Education Grant and LabelFrancEducation. Congratulations to North Academy Of World Languages K-8, International Charter School of Atlanta, Bay Creek Middle School for this distinction! Congrats to @Trip Elementary for the renewal! It was also the first Regional Seminar in French in Higher Education for Growth and Sustainability at Georgia Institute of Technology About 40 French teachers and the heads of department from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee participated in the Seminar. It featured six insightful discussions led by distinguished experts. Thank you to the speakers for your inspiring talks — this event wouldn't have been possible without you! Letrice J., Jemimah O., Robert Kilpatrick and Alexander Claussen shared innovative ways to promote French departments effectively, including leveraging young teachers' perspectives and using cinema and Festival as a promotional tool. @Maury Young Bruhn, Krista Chambless, E. Nicole MEYER, Ph.D., and Dr. Sophie Landrieux Kartochian emphasized creating interdisciplinary ties to make French studies more relevant across other academic fields. After that, @Rachel Gabara, Mathias Guerreiro-Aires, @Debbie Barnard, and @Juliette Duthoit highlighted the key role of internships in preparing students for global careers through French studies. Stéphanie Boulard and Kelly Kidder explored the value of intercultural exchanges and study abroad programs in broadening students’ academic and personal horizons. Valerie Loichot, Noelle Giguere, and Anne-Gaëlle Saliot discussed pedagogical innovations in the curriculum and the importance of Francophone doctoral studies in creating a bridge between undergraduate and graduate education. Finally, @Ann McCullough, @Joan McRae, @Abigail Alexander, Dylan G., Lynn Ramey, and @Raisa Rexer explored how technology and AI are revolutionizing French studies, making education more interactive and accessible. Each session brought fresh perspectives and practical strategies for fostering the growth of French programs. It was a wonderful opportunity to network, share resources, and discuss new ideas and initiatives that could be implemented to support the French departments across the Southeast.
