DEI is not an abbreviation – it’s a Human Strategy, and respect and inclusion are good for business. As we step into 2025, I’m reflecting on 30 years in retail, 10 years in the US, and 5 years as a CEO—milestones that have shaped my journey. From leading five retail turnarounds to joining the CNBC CEO Council and Pearl by David's Bridal advisory board, to building a culture at francesca’s® where authenticity and belonging take center stage, this journey has been one of transformation and growth. Being an openly gay CEO has meant learning to be a truth-teller. During my career, I've faced prejudice and even lost a job because of, quote, “the lifestyle I have chosen to live.” Those experiences shaped me as a leader and strengthened my commitment to authenticity, trust, and purpose. Representation matters. Culture matters. And in 2025, we’re just getting started.
