In celebration of the special theme "Océan de savoir" for la #FeteDeLaScience, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Lia Siegelman, Associate Professor at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, for a fascinating #CaféDesSciences, organized in collaboration with the Alliance Française de San Diego. Dr. Siegelman captivated the audience by revealing fascinating parallels between the dynamics of Earth's oceans and the cyclones observed on Jupiter. Using data from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Juno spacecraft, which captured cyclones at Jupiter's poles, she explained how these phenomena mirror patterns seen in our oceans, demonstrating how studying one can enhance the understanding of the other. We also had the privilege of visiting laboratories at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, where Dr. Lia Siegelman, Dr. Dimitri Deheyn, and Dr. Julie Dinasquet shared valuable insights into ongoing Franco-American collaborations in oceanography. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this event. Let's continue working together to protect our planet and beyond!
