Living Joyfully
About us
Franciscan Ministries, sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago, is a nonprofit Catholic organization. For more than a century, we have cared for generations of families. We own and operate premier senior living communities that provide a spectrum of housing and care options including independent living, assisted living, memory support services, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and community-based home care. Our charitable programs include a domestic violence prevention center and shelter, and we provide scholarships and educational support for students attending an all-girls Catholic high school in the Chicago area.

There's so much to learn about memory and the human brain, and misunderstandings about cognition and memory loss are common. The media often portrays memory loss in ways that can perpetuate myths and fears unrelated to the true causes of cognitive decline. At Franciscan Ministries, we understand the significant impact these misconceptions can have on individuals living with dementia and their families. Read our blog to gain clarification about these common myths and get a better understanding of the factors contributing to memory loss: https://heyor.ca/wkbsXQ
