Tip #3 on how YOU can differentiate yourself from other applicants with unemployment down:   Now that you’ve put so much effort into customizing your resume and networking, let’s work on visibility. In regards to job boards, make sure to refresh your resume every 2-3 weeks to ensure prospective employers will see your resume first. This can be as minor as changing “NY” to “New York” on your address. This will ensure that your resume is among the first batch of candidates to be seen when employers are doing searches on their end, as results are filtered chronologically. Have questions? Tip #2 on how YOU can differentiate yourself from other applicants with unemployment down: Use 👏 Your 👏 NETWORK👏: Many employers offer referral bonuses; and who couldn’t use extra spending cash? Before applying to any job, ALWAYS check whether you may have professional connections with that company who can refer you. If you don’t, see if you have any trusted 2nd level connections who may. You get a job, and they get paid for helping! In many cases, the person advertising an open position is listed on LinkedIn. Job descriptions also reference reporting structure (who would I report to?). Now it’s time to roll up your sleeves a bit and get digging! Visit organization's Community Relations and Investor Relations pages where corporate contacts are often listed. Once you’ve identified email formats, you can message someone directly! Unemployment may be down, so how can YOU differentiate yourself from other applicants?  #1 CUSTOMIZE YOUR RESUME! Make sure you have the correct number of years of experience (or at least close). Be certain you meet the required computer/technical skills listed by employers, and that they are clearly listed on your resume. Furthermore, individuals may not receive a response unless a meaningful correlation is drawn between one’s current role (include metrics, key accomplishments, etc.).   Follow Freemont Yardley Search and come back next week for more suggestions as we continue to explore more ways to enhance your chances of receiving a positive response.
