𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 (𝗜𝗪𝗗) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 – 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲 ⚡ To mark #IWD2025, we sat down with the women at the forefront of our business to celebrate how they have actively helped to #AccelerateAction in their roles. From first jobs and aspirations for the future, to priceless advice she’d share with her younger self if they met for coffee; this week, we hear from our Head of Literary Acquisitions, Raffaella De Angelis. An industry expert, De Angelis partners with producers to navigate the world of IP, negotiate and acquire book rights, and convince agents to entrust Fremantle with projects. De Angelis began her career in the late 90’s as an assistant in the classical music division at ICM in New York. Starting from the bottom, she worked her way up into book publishing as a Literary Agent – all she “ever wanted to work on was championing books”. It wasn’t easy but De Angelis ”learnt everything there and always had amazing support along the way”. Read our full interview ⬇️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳? Sharing your passion, connecting and listening to people and colleagues at any level is vital. The people that always helped me to really embrace what I was doing were colleagues. The team got me through – learning from others is vital. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲? You need experience, to be wrong and to make mistakes. You also need validation from others, you need to be seen to build real confidence. It takes one person to see something in you and that person does exist. It’s a long process and it can’t happen overnight, but somebody will see it. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? I love travelling, walking in nature, the sea, and yoga. Cooking for friends, being with people. I am obsessed with going to the movies, and…there is always reading. 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱? Ask questions and try to understand why you are doing something, what the purpose is and why it’s important. And the golden rule? A bit old-fashioned but always pick up the phone! 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲: It’s very important to find an emotional connection with your work. You have to enjoy yourself and find the inspiration, the humour and the passion in what you do. You must believe you’re doing good work – the world is too depressing otherwise. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲? I’m optimistic that, in future, the focus for women at work will be more about being seen as people rather than a gender, more about collaboration, about being different and inclusive, being individuals, to bring our own point of view to a leadership position, regardless if female or male. How can our differences produce a better way of working? The opportunity is for women to define the collaboration, not ask for it.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 (𝗜𝗪𝗗) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 – 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲 ⚡ To mark #IWD2025 on 8 March, we sat down with the women at the forefront of our business to celebrate how they have actively helped to #AccelerateAction in their roles. From first jobs and aspirations for the future, to priceless advice she’d share with her younger self if they met for coffee; this week, we hear from our SVP Global Channels, Laura Florence, who leads our FAST strategy and builds out our direct-to-consumer infrastructure across the business. During her university years, Florence held a variety of roles; working as a barista; interning at her local Mayor’s Office; a PR agency; a law firm; and a visual effects company. Each of these jobs gave taught Florence "valuable lessons" and "helped shape" the "versatile skill set" she has today. Read our full interview ⬇️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳? I would tell my younger self that practicing patience, doing thorough research, and seeking guidance from peers can help create balance in even the most challenging situations. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲? I’m confident when I’ve taken small, consistent steps toward my tasks and goals, staying focused on what truly matters – because these actions lead to real progress and change. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? I enjoy spending time with my family – especially watching my three boys grow up so fast! 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱? The best advice I’ve ever received is to celebrate wins and take time to recognise your successes. While we constantly work toward our goals, pausing to acknowledge key achievements helps us appreciate how far we have come. 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲: I always advise practicing patience, active listening, and understanding – because every partner, vendor, and customer has a voice and a need. Embracing this approach creates opportunities for connection and effective problem-solving. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲? As a working mother, I’m optimistic that we continue to provide equal opportunities for women to grow and achieve their goals – both professionally and in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, especially for those juggling career and family responsibilities. #LifeAtFremantle | #IWD2025
