It's a rare day when our walk-in cooler (which sits just above freezing) is more than 40 degrees warmer than outside.
The subzero temps over the past week were challenging to our operation in numerous ways. For much of our team, every day required multiple hours packing orders in the cooler or making dozens of deliveries with wind chills in the 30-below range. In some cases, they did both.
The Fresh Picks crew is small (for now) but mighty (forever). Like we do every week, last week we packed thousands of unique items and delivered hundreds of orders across more than 175 Chicagoland zip codes. It was done with care, devotion and resolve, knowing that in several cases the need for that food to be delivered that day was critical.
Am I bragging? Yes. Yes I am. But more importantly, for anyone who's a Fresh Picks' customer, I want you to know that there is a team behind every order that always goes above and beyond.
