In celebration of #HispanicHeritageMonth, we're featuring native Uruguayan Ana Dunkel, our Chief Financial Officer and an integral part of our executive team. Although Ana moved to the U.S. when she was 9 years old, her parents always ensured she felt connected to her roots. She grew up speaking Spanish at home, reading works by prominent Uruguayan authors, and learning to cook traditional dishes, traditions that she continues with her own family today. Ana celebrates this month by honoring the contributions of the Hispanic and LatinX people. She enjoys indulging in the literature and music of her culture as well as that of the broader Hispanic community. She sees this month as a reminder of the strength and resilience of her ancestors, a reflection on the beauty and diversity of her heritage, and a celebration of being an American in a melting pot of cultures that collectively makes us stronger. And just like her parents, Ana is ensuring her children understand the unique perspective that comes from being the children of an immigrant. She helps them embrace their heritage by imparting cultural values such as the importance of family, respect, and hard work. These values have paid off in her career. "I think my heritage informs the way I approach problem-solving and relationships at The Friedkin Group. Hispanic culture places a big emphasis on community and collaboration, and I try to foster a supportive, inclusive environment in my work teams. Being part of a diverse work environment enriches our collective experiences and allows us to reach better solutions.”

Now in its eighth year, the Congaree Foundation’s Global Golf Initiative’s philanthropic mission is to broaden horizons and open up possibilities for underserved college-bound golfers. ⛳️ This summer, CGGI hosted students from around the world for a week-long camp at Archerfield Links in Scotland. Participants from 11 countries including Argentina, Canada, Ireland, Kenya, Latvia, Paraguay, Scotland, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, UAE, and Venezuela were introduced to Congaree’s team of academic and athletic advisors who guided each student in developing personalized plans to realize their dreams—both on and off the course. Aspiring golfer Patrīcija Jakovļeva from Latvia wrote, ”A massive thank you wouldn’t cover how life changing this experience has been. Coming from a small country, not expecting much and being greeted with so much love and support from CGGI was something extraordinary. I’m truly thankful that this has been the start of my university experience and I’m so happy that I will have this network of so many amazing and wonderful people thanks to CGGI. Thank you!”
