A night of extraordinary music and Franco-American friendship! 🎶✨ Last night at the Consulate of France in New York, the sound of French-American friendship was in perfect harmony with a stunning performance conducted by Marc Minkowski, founder of the world-renowned Les Musiciens du Louvre . With opening remarks by Deputy Consul Myriam Gil, who highlighted the esteemed legacy of the ensemble, known for its mastery of Classical, Baroque, and Romantic repertoires, the program featured Handel and a surprise excerpt from Meyerbeer’s Robert le Diable. The evening was elevated by the incredible performances of Erin Morley, Stephane Rougier, and Israel Gursky in the intimate setting of the Salon Rose. Our Executive Director, Domitille Marchal Lemoine, CFRE, spoke to the enduring generosity of American supporters who have nurtured French art for generations, ensuring its continued innovation and global reach. In an exciting speech, Marc Minkowski also evoked the inspiring idea of a French-American music academy, a vision to further deepen the bonds between our two nations through the universal language of music. This new chapter of Franco-American collaboration promises bold artistic endeavors, breathtaking performances, and a bright future for Les Musiciens du Louvre. On #International #Holocaust Remembrance Day, we reaffirm our commitment to freedom and justice. 80 years after the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, we remember both the lives lost and the survivors who carry their stories. This Wednesday at Carnegie Hall, Leah Pisar and Judith Pisar—daughter and wife of Auschwitz survivor #Samuel #Pisar—will accompany the Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) performance of #Bernstein's Symphony No. 3 "#Kaddish," and read the powerful words Samuel Pisar wrote. The concert, conducted by James Conlon, will bring Pisar's legacy to life through music, inspiring hope and remembrance for future generations.

“I have learned that our greatest blessings come when we are able to improve the lives of others, and this is especially true when those others are desperately poor or in need.” Today, we honor the extraordinary legacy of President Jimmy Carter, a visionary philanthropist whose life embodied this truth. His unwavering commitment to serving others—from fighting poverty to advocating for peace and human rights—has left an indelible mark on the world. As a humanitarian and philanthropist, President Carter showed us the power of generosity and compassion without borders. Through initiatives like the Carter Center, his dedication to eradicating disease, ensuring free elections, and improving lives in some of the world's most vulnerable communities reminds us that giving—whether across nations or across cultures—can truly change the world. At Friends of Fondation de France, we celebrate his example and the belief that, together, we can make a difference no matter where we are. Cross border philanthropy allows us to change the world. President Carter’s relentless optimism and devotion to humanity will continue to inspire us to act, to give, and to build a better future for all. © The Carter Center #JimmyCarter #Humanitarian #CrossBorderPhilanthropy
