Join Our Mission as a Professional Mentor (Friend) at Friends of the Children-Houston! 🌟 Friends of the Children-Houston (FOTC-Houston) is looking for dedicated, passionate, and resilient individuals to make a lasting impact in the lives of children facing systemic challenges. As a Professional Mentor, also known as a “Friend,” you’ll have the opportunity to support, guide, and empower youth by building meaningful, one-on-one relationships and providing consistent, long-term mentorship. Position Highlights: • Role: Full-time Professional Mentor (Friend) • Commitment: Minimum 3-year commitment, supporting children from kindergarten through graduation • Impact: Help change life trajectories by fostering resilience, self-confidence, and opportunity Why Join Us?   • Our leader Tre Maxie attended the Netflix premiere of Simone Biles Rising Part 2 at the The Egyptian Theatre - LA in Hollywood! World Champion gymnast and youth advocate, Simone Biles spoke about her experiences with normalizing mental health and therapy. She also spoke about her journey from early childhood to life now! The documentary will be released on Netflix on Friday, October 25!

  • Stand Together has just featured Friends of the Children – Houston in an article that highlights our impactful partnership with World Champion gymnast and youth advocate Simone Biles. Having spent part of her childhood in foster care, Simone has become a passionate advocate for our mission to break the cycle of generational poverty. Her dedication helped establish the Houston chapter last year, and her journey continues to inspire the youth we serve.
