#GivingTuesday is right around the corner! Last year, Friends of Forman raised $77,000 to fund 28 scholarships. This year, we aim to cover 30 annual scholarships by raising $84,000! 🎯🙌 These scholarships will help students in rural areas of Pakistan, where financial barriers often make education inaccessible. It is the nature of FCCU to break new ground in education in Pakistan! Did you know… The first two Science graduates of FCCU were also the first Science graduates of the University of the Punjab? FCCU students had an opportunity to showcase their talents and perspectives on marketing and brand management during a recent competition and gathering. Forman’s School of Management presented a Brand Wars! Competition organized by Maryyam Khan, providing opportunities for students to apply their business, marketing, and brand management skills in a “real world” setting adjudicated by business leaders from such companies as Geo News, AF Ferguson, Metro Pakistan, and others. “May God bless you more. Your donations are surely a true help for families like mine that are financially unstable. May God take care of you and your families,” Aqueila Sumeriah Alyas, FCCU student Aqueila is a pharmacy student who dreamed of attending FCCU. However, with her father’s combined salary from two jobs, his medical expenses for treating diabetes, and her two siblings also in school, Aqueila realized early that her family would not be able to afford to pay university expenses. “For me, education is indeed important for my growth physically, mentally, and spiritually. As a female, I believe that the women of Pakistan should surely be educated. There are many phases in a woman's life, not just her childhood, her youth, and her marriage, and they all require a woman to be strong, steadfast, and bold enough to face the challenges of this generation. I strongly believe that education leads to knowledge, optimism, and confidence.” Fueled by a passion for education and personal growth, Aqueila applied for financial aid with FCCU. “Since my school days, I wanted to be a part of FCCU as it is a famous prestigious university in Lahore and a great platform for Christian students. FCCU promises a bright future for its students. It provides a stage to communicate, indulge, enhance, and improve the professional attitude of the youth of Pakistan. It allows students from every province and every religion to unite in one place.” Even with the financial burdens her family faces, Aqueila holds fast to her commitment to earning her degree and breaking the cycle of poverty for her family. “In the future, I want to work as a hospital pharmacist or as a drug inspector. I believe that students should stay committed, motivated, and determined in their studies, appreciating their parents’ efforts.” Because of your support, Aqueila is changing the future of her family.
