These two residence halls are now home to over 1,000 students, providing a nexus of transformative resources to help them thrive. Rooted in the rich history of this proud campus, these buildings symbolize Morgan State's upward trajectory. After years of planning and construction, the Lynnwood Link Extension is finally open, connecting our community with the rest of the region. We are so thankful for the scores of people who made this day possible, from the construction crews, engineers, and planners to the elected officials who helped secure the funding to make this project a reality. Most of all, we want to thank you! Thank you to our community members who have waited patiently for the Light Rail to finally arrive in Lynnwood for all these years. Thank you so much! It took a while, but the Mount Vernon Library Commons has received its Phius Design Certification! As the team wraps up the Third-Party Inspections and Testing, Final Certification is around the corner. This is a major milestone for our first Passive House project. This week marks the official opening of Brightview Hunt Valley, a vibrant senior living community located conveniently in the Hunt Valley Towne Center in Hunt Valley, MD. The new community features 178 residences of independent living, assisted living, and memory care along with ample amenity spaces meticulously crafted for residents to enjoy a vibrant lifestyle. Residents and their families will also benefit from the adjacency of retail and restaurant options just a short walk from their door.   It was a pleasure to work with such a talented group including Harkins Builders, Inc., Aumen Asner, Inc., and of course the amazing Brightview Senior Living team! Did you hear?! The new net-zero energy SEED (Sustainable Education Every Day) classroom at Black Hill Regional Park in Boyds, MD is now OPEN! This one-classroom building provides a space for park staff to teach lessons on sustainability to elementary and middle school students, and serves as a community event space. HCM designed this classroom with ample eco-friendly features: 8kW solar panels that produce 100% of the building's energy needs, recycled fly ash siding, and a rainwater collection system for a green wall display and flushing the compostable toilet. The interior was intentionally left exposed to serve as a teaching tool, showcasing the power of sustainable design. The local community had a blast at the grand opening last month!
