This week the Panhellenic Delegates for Alpha Chi (Madeline Watts) and Phi Mu (Lucie Grace Lovato) planned a pendant-making class. It was a wonderful event with our Panhellenic sisters to de-stress as we reached the end of the semester. https://lnkd.in/e3HMU2dM

This week we hosted FSU professor, Joe Calhoun and certified peer Mentor Whitney from the Unconquered by Debt: A Financial Wellness Program from Florida State University. The goals of the program are to enhance financial literacy and transform decision-making so that our sisters can each become wealth creators. https://lnkd.in/e7aFac-q

National Pedestrian Safety Month is celebrated in October by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation. The month is a time to recognize that pedestrian safety is a shared responsibility between drivers and pedestrians. This past week members tabled during Market Wednesday to raise awareness in honor of Ellie Sims, MC ’23. Ellie Sims, a vibrant and cherished 20-year-old Florida State University student, and Alpha Chi Omega member was tragically taken from us on April 29, 2024. Today, a memorial sits by the crosswalk where Sims was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Tallahassee. https://lnkd.in/ezeMbn57

Great job Jenna Merlino
This past weekend I had the incredible opportunity to compete at the Great Northwoods Sales Warm Up hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire It was an amazing experience to connect with talented peers and industry professionals while improving my sales skills. The competition not only challenged me to think on my feet but also pushed me to refine my techniques and strategies in a supportive environment. A huge thank you to the organizers, judges, and fellow participants for making this event so impactful. Also, thank you to Chuck Viosca and our coaches Ryan Archambault, Piper Trino, and Mackenzie Henderson for all of their support as well as Alexander Leslie for traveling with us to the competition! I’m grateful for the chance to learn and grow alongside such passionate individuals. Looking forward to applying what I’ve learned and continuing my journey in the sales field!

We love seeing sisters follow their dreams! Congratulations Catherine Pinkos on an amazing opportunity
This past weekend, I had the exceptional privilege of attending a networking trip in Miami, FL, on behalf of the FSU Sport Management Student Association! Throughout the weekend, we connected with industry professionals across various organizations, including The Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium, The Florida Panthers, The Miami Marlins and loanDepot park, and InterMiami FC. This experience provided valuable insight into various sects of the sports industry such as game management, marketing, and sales/sponsorship negotiation. I am grateful to have gained a deeper understanding of sports business operations and am excited to apply these lessons to my future endeavors!

Great job Avery Shaver on an impactful event!
Last Monday, October 21st, my student initiative, University of Choice, proudly hosted our 9th annual speaker series! This year, we were incredibly fortunate to welcome Abbas Karimi, a Paralympian with a powerful and inspiring story of resilience and achievement. Planning this event has been a true labor of love for both me and my dedicated peers, and it was such a rewarding experience to see the impact Abbas's story had on our audience. His journey highlights the importance of accessibility and inclusivity, values we strive to promote through University of Choice. If you have a moment, I urge you to listen to the radio segment WFSU created about our event here: https://lnkd.in/gvbCViBz Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible and to those who attended and supported us. Together, we're moving closer to making the world an accessible for everyone. Looking forward to seeing what next year will bring! Today, as the Vice President of Women in Computer Science at FSU, I had the privilege of leading an Introduction to Git and GitHub Workshop in collaboration with FSU Libraries, where I serve as a Senior Data Fellow! This was such a great learning opportunity for us all, and it was so amazing to see so much enthusiasm from those who participated and made this event a success. I am so excited for what the rest of this year holds, as we continue to grow and learn together! #WomenInTech #Git
