BANGLADESH 🇧🇩 Reflecting on #WorldFoodDay, Faheem Khan, Country Lead of Policy Activity in Bangladesh, highlights the critical food safety challenges we face. With nearly 10% of the global population still experiencing hunger, Bangladesh also contends with food contamination and an annual loss of $1.65 billion due to foodborne diseases. Addressing these issues requires a dual approach: strengthening systems and improving coordination among agencies like the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority, while fostering essential behavioral changes. Implementing good agricultural practices and raising awareness among our youth are crucial steps to ensure safe food for everyone, from local consumers to export markets. Let's commit to ensuring safe food for all.

On this Africa Youth Day, we celebrate the impact of young leaders driving change through #Leading4Change Ghana. #Leading4Change equips youth with essential leadership skills through immersive workshops and hands-on projects. Over four intensive days, participants develop their growth mindset, situational leadership, emotional intelligence, and strategic influence abilities. These skills are then put into practice through three months of community-based projects focused on agriculture, food security, and climate action. As our program lead, Annie Dela Akanko, shares: "It was really fulfilling to see the youth, after the three months implementation of their activity learning projects, to see themselves transformed, being able to work well with people, being able to lead their teams to implement projects in the midst of the conflicts, the challenges, and also being able to integrate various stakeholders into the approach and accomplishing their results." This is what youth empowerment looks like in action. This is how we build a resilient, food-secure, and climate-smart Africa – by investing in the boundless potential of our youth. 👏 #L4CGhana

Strategic Communications Lead, Ghana | Policy LINK Activity at DAI

Having spent the first six years of my career journey in journalism, experiencing firsthand the challenges reporters face in their line of work, and now working closely with them from the other side as a development communications practitioner, this partnership between the Feed the Future Ghana Policy LINK Activity and the media means a lot to me. With behavioral change being at the heart of what Policy LINK is seeking to achieve – a more transparent, inclusive, and evidence-based agriculture and food systems policy process – we see the media as allies, not just conveyors of information from our programs, events, and activities. And what do partners do for each other? #Support! Supporting the GJA awards in the five regions of northern Ghana is our way of encouraging interest in and promoting excellence in agriculture and climate change reporting. Thanks to the #USAIDinGhana for further amplifying the efforts of these dedicated journalists who tirelessly highlight critical issues in agriculture and climate change. Looking forward to our year-long partnership. Four more videos to come 😊 #Anticipate #AgriculturalPolicy #ClimateChange #Media Frank Kofi Boadi, APR, MCIPR, Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson

"The CAADP partnership meeting and Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security are vital for advancing Africa's agricultural transformation. But despite our commitment, we're falling short of the Malabo 2025 targets. It's time to identify the real issues and find solutions—no more just meetings! Let’s act now for a sustainable future." - H.E Josefa Sacko #FoodSecurity #AGRAImpact

🌾 What has Africa's continent-wide agricultural initiative - the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) - achieved in two decades, and what's next for the continent's food systems? Tomorrow, stakeholders gather in Harare for the 20th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme Partnership Platform (CAADP PP), Malabo Policy Learning Event (MAPLE), and the Commemoration of the 15th Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security (ADFNS) to share successes, examine investment opportunities, and explore how nutrition, agrifood systems and education can work together for Africa's growth. Policy LINK will open the first session with an analysis of the Biennial Review Results, examining performance measurements over the past eight years. Mr. Joshua Wathanga will moderate discussions featuring insights from Dr. Janet Edeme (AUC-ARD) and a keynote on the Review's four cycles by Dr. John Ulimwengu. We will also explore how these findings are shaping policy changes and implementation across the continent.
