Providing comprehensive, professional bereavement support to children, adults, families, and communities in Central VA.

About us

Full Circle, a 501(c)3 organization, is Richmond's comprehensive grief resource center. The mission of Full Circle is to provide comprehensive, professional support to children, families, adults, and communities. Our organization is dedicated to children, adults, and families who need long-term, professional support as they work through their grief. We use creative expression to enable children to share their worries, fears, anger, sadness, and many other emotions that come along with experiencing the death of someone significant to them. Full Circle provides much needed grief support and educational resources to people in our community who are grieving the death of a loved one—free of charge. Each year we conduct five to seven eight-week family group sessions (HOH) at our center in Henrico County, and 15 to 20 eight-week school group sessions in Richmond City, Chesterfield County, and Henrico County at-risk schools. We have other specialized groups for those whose loved one experienced a suicide or perinatal death. Professional mental health clinicians lead the groups through discussions and conduct art-based projects that encourage participants to express their grief at their own pace and gradually to heal.

  • We remain consistently grateful for the steadfast support shown to us by our local government through grants and funding from Henrico County and Chesterfield County. This generous financial support supplies us with the resources needed to ensure that our grief groups, such as Hands on Healing, Perinatal Loss, Overdose Loss, and Suicide Loss, are cost-free for participants in Central Virginia. A solid majority of our group participants and clients call either Henrico or Chesterfield home, so with a combined $60,000 in support, we are able to continue to serve our community when individuals and families need us most. Thank you, Chesterfield County and Henrico County! 💙

  • We will forever co-sign this important reminder from @pregnancyafterlosssupport that even on a day like National Rainbow Baby Day (today, August 22), well... not all parents get their rainbow. It can be a day to celebrate the joy that comes after months and years of heartache, but it can also be a time to hold out an umbrella for those families that are still standing in the rain. We see you. ☔ ***** National Rainbow Baby Day is bittersweet. We celebrate the rainbow babies, as we remember the babies who came before them. And, we also recognize the heartbreaking reality that not all rainbow babies live and not all loss parents go on to have a rainbow baby, for many different reasons. We want you to know that we see you too, parents. We see the love you have for all of your children. We see your parenthood. Sending you love today. Words + image: @pregnancyafterlosssupport
