It took 1 engineer 15 weeks to launch the MVP. Fast forward, we are on THOUSANDS of golf carts facilitating hundreds of rounds every day 👇 A while back, FAIRWAYiQ, Inc. came to Fullsend Solutions with a challenging problem set and a firm launch date - not ideal, but an environment we thrive in. FIQ's founder, an avid golfer himself, was looking to gain marketshare by putting heads-up displays in the golf carts of his partner courses. The display needed to offer: 🎯 accurate distance calculations, 📍 GPS for on-course navigation, 🌎 geofencing for restricted areas, 🏌♂️ pace of play reminders, and more. Edge case considerations were plentiful: low connectivity, OTA updates, nuanced course layouts.. the list goes on. Fullsend built, tested, and deployed the MVP in just 15 weeks with one fullstack engineer. Today we continue to roll out the tablets to new courses and are actively enhancing based on customer feedback from the field. Not only has this been my favorite project to QA (though my HCI continues to trend in the wrong direction), but the client has been a dream to work with. The folks over at Fairway are top notch - giving us the space to cook when necessary and a seat at the table for iteration and product strategy.
