Today we cut the ribbon for The Center for Diversion and Services, the result of a shared vision to reimagine justice in Fulton County and the City of Atlanta. With deep support from community leaders, government agencies, nonprofit advocates, and dedicated residents, the Center will provide critical resources to address mental health, housing instability, and other factors that often lead to arrest. Thanks to Fulton County, City of Atlanta, Grady Health System, and partners like PAD, Georgia Justice Project, Women on the Rise and many more, the Center now provides peer support, showers, a sobering room, and connections to essential services for mental health, housing, and employment. The courtyard's mural, emblazoned with #Hope, stands as a testament to the compassion that brought us here and will continue to guide us forward! #FultonCounty #CityOfAtlanta #CommunitySupport #TheFultonWay

Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman of the “Mighty6” led a pack of runners and walkers during the district’s first 5K! The Mighty 6 Cleared for Takeoff Domestic Violence Awareness 5K on Saturday, October 26, at the Fulton County Executive Airport was a huge success! Dozens turned out to make the 3-mile trek around the airport. The 5K helped to bring awareness and to benefit the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (GCADV). The Vice Chair celebrated with the top runners including first place winner 14-year-old Franzel Destrade, who finished the race in just under 27-minutes! #ExperienceFulton

The final week of early voting is now underway in Fulton County. To date, more than 210,000 residents have casted their ballots early for the 2024 General Election. If you’re a registered Fulton County voter still thinking about participating in early voting, don’t worry, there’s still time. You will have until 7 p.m. on Friday, November 1 to visit one of the county’s early voting polling locations. Once early voting ends, voters who choose to vote on Tuesday, November 5, Election Day, must do so at their assigned polling location. Fulton County Public Works has started a major infrastructure project in the Alpharetta area. On October 21, Public Works began replacing a section of waterlines along Hook Road and Jere Drive. The work includes installation of new 6-in ductile iron pipe (DIP) and 8-in DIP along Jere Drive and Hook Road respectively, to replace an existing old cast iron pipe (CIP). The new pipe will be laid within the road. Construction activities will be limited as much as possible within the public Right-of-Way. Any disturbed properties caused by this work will be restored nearly as possible to its original conditions.
