An excerpt follows, as well as a link to the full publication: “Banks are certainly more focused on who they are extending their balance sheets to and, while pressure has abated to a degree, it has not disappeared entirely. That dynamic is likely to continue until the rate cycle changes and overall credit availability improves. Banks are going to be required to hold even more deposits on account in connection with extending subscription line credit. In 2023, private equity, private credit, real estate, and infrastructure funds raised the largest-ever funds on record (Source: McKinsey).
