And that's a wrap! Funga's 2024 inoculation has been an exciting time to see how smoothly our operations can scale. Our year-round rigorous testing and planning paid off, allowing us to inoculate millions of seedlings across multiple nurseries over a two week period. Over the next few months these seedlings and their healthy soil microbiomes will be planted with our land partners all across the Southeastern U.S., and start creating positive outcomes for tree growth and carbon capture. Special thanks to our partners at PRT Growing Services Ltd. and everyone who was a part of our inoculation crew these past few weeks! #climatetech #forestry #regenerativeag #regenerativeagriculture #regenerativeforestry #biodiversity #microbiome #fungi #restoration #forests #loblollypine

Environmental Services
Harnessing forest fungal networks to address the biodiversity and climate crises.
About us
At Funga, we use the forest fungal microbiome to improve forestry outcomes and address the climate crisis while enhancing beneficial microbial biodiversity. We combine modern DNA sequencing and machine learning technology with breakthrough research on the forest microbiome to put the right native, biodiverse communities of mycorrhizal fungi in the right place. This leads to more quality wood created more quickly, more carbon sequestered, and more resilient forest ecologies.

Two weeks ago, the World Economic Forum launched a report on "Investing in Natural Capital" highlighting the ways in which innovation plays a key role in unlocking more capital for nature. Here are some of the startups selected by UpLink - World Economic Forum and 1t.org, whose innovations are making it easier for financing to flow to nature - from the way ecological evidence is collected to the way nature is being "uplifted" by actions taken at a local level. This list is not exhaustive and meant to give a snapshot of the nature innovation space and highlighting recent UpLink Top Innovators. ➡ You can find the full report here: https://lnkd.in/dm-dcqtE NatureMetrics Mozaic EarthTreeswift Pivotal Future Pano AI Gentian Robotics Cats 3Bee Nala Earth Soilytix Bioverse umgrauemeio Boomitra Wilder Climate Solutions Carbon Counts Treeapp Open Forest Protocol Earthly Terrasos Belterra Agroforestry Terraformation Zulu Ecosystems InvestConservation®SankalpTaru Foundation Cultivo Land Life Ecoflora Cares AirForestry Groasis Ecological Water Saving Technology (Groasis B.V.) Week one of Funga's 2024 inoculation is in the books! Last year we inoculated 1 Million seedlings at one nursery location, and we are thrilled to report that this year we are inoculating multiple millions across multiple nurseries. One of the most powerful selling points of our work has been the inherent capacity to scale quickly, and we're making it happen in real time. Huge thanks to our crew onsite in Georgia, Ian Ware J. This is one of the tree nurseries Funga works in to reintroduce wild, biodiverse communities of fungi to southern pine forests. This is a key part of how forest microbiome restoration at scale actually gets done. So proud to have such an incredible partner in PRT Growing Services Ltd.!
Ever wondered what 50 million seedlings looks like? Check out this great shot from our Moultrie, Georgia nursery. If you're looking for scale and quality, PRT/IFCO has you covered! #PRT #ifco #bettertogether #seedlings #forestry

'Investing in nature is essential, attractive and feasible' is the key message of UpLink - World Economic Forum’s new insight report, 'Investing in Natural Capital: Innovations Supporting Much-Needed Financing for Nature'. This report seeks to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the value inherent in natural resources, what the report calls "Natural Capital", so that investment and innovation can build towards a global economy that preserves instead of exploits resources and ecosystems. ➡️ Read the full report to learn more: https://wef.ch/4ectOmR #naturalcapital #impactinvesting #investinginnature #innovation #startup #climateweek #SDIM24 https://lnkd.in/gKDdnets
