I'm still thinking about the sessions at last week's Future Commerce Visions Summit. Here are 3 key themes that emerged throughout the day: 1. Commerce is culture 👟 - The future of Commerce depends on understanding cultural vibrations - Brands must engage with broader societal trends - Customers seek products tailored to their individual preferences and want to collaborate on their experience with brands 2. The discourse is the story 📢 - Customer conversations outvalue traditional marketing - People trust TikTok influencers and ecomm/product critics for advice - In a 'post-vibes' world, how do you tell stories? 3. Ecommerce is becoming homogenized 🚨 - "Best practices" and CRO have led to site standardization - Modular e-commerce platforms will allow seamless integration of unique, brand-specific elements within a familiar shopping framework - Will we see a return to ecommerce as art form? And that doesn't even touch the discussion around GenerativeAI which I found both smart and hopeful. Thanks for an inspiring afternoon Brian Lange Phillip Jackson Rachel Joy Victor Emily Segal Linda Ong Lesley Silverman Todd Terrazas Elena Kacan Roxanna (Roxy) Couse Walter Woodman

My readers will rightfully notice that yesterday's The Guardian piece is actually related to the long-form article on European nostalgia I wrote for Future Commerce this past spring. Phillip Jackson, ever the futurist, called this way ahead of time! https://lnkd.in/eggk-SS9
