  • We'd like to take a moment to recognize and sing the praises of our horticulturalist team. They do such amazing work, particularly making the Downtown Square Gardens a jewel of Fayetteville in the spring, summer and fall. The City's horticulturalist team maintains the parks, trails, trees and gardens located on City property and street right-of-ways. They're the best in the state!

  • UPDATE: The west wall of the old Vernon & McIlroy-Moore Produce Warehouse is being carefully dismantled. After, it will be rebuilt brick by brick with the original brick. The work is being done as part of an historic preservation project, which includes masonry stabilization, new windows and doors, and structural and foundation repair of the historic building, aka the John Porter produce warehouse, at Spring St. and West Ave. Built c. 1906, the warehouse is a significant surviving relic of the region's produce industry. The property has been owned by the City and University of Arkansas since 1990, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.
