I wrote this guide to avoid burnout with Michelle because I was near death (not kidding) and these principles saved my life. During the last decade, I faced: - ADHD - Workaholism - Chronic Illness (mold toxicity, mercury poisoning) - Extreme back pain (5 surgeries) - Recurring burnout My health issues made clear decision-making feel impossible. I needed something more. So I asked for help and began making small, meaningful changes: - Cold showers to reset my nervous system. - Meditation between meetings. - Prioritizing adequate sleep. - Learning to say no. The visible changes in my mind and body motivated me and Michelle to build Dev Health OS, something we wished we had a decade ago! This is a toolkit you can use for the long term. It’s designed to help you grow your career and optimize your health. Our hope is that it will help you: → rediscover your love for coding → improve your productivity → do your best work again But this isn’t just for developers. It’s for anyone who believes that great work and health go hand in hand. From managers, bosses, and CEOs, too. Tech isn’t slowing down. Life isn’t getting easier. If you want to keep up - and thrive - you need the right tools to take care of yourself. Comment GUIDE and I'll send it to you.

We are so proud of what Michelle Bakels and team have created with the dev health OS . If you have not checked it out yet, then 👀 View it 🎁 Share it 📩 Show your leadership 🏃♂️ Live it
Hot take: time management tools are useless when developers are overworked. We've created a counterintuitive culture where: 01/ Constant busyness = productivity 02/ Multitasking is praised, despite killing efficiency 03/ Overwork is seen as a badge of honor 04/ Quality is sacrificed for the sake of quantity No tool can fix a core issue. What we really need isn't another app… We need to change our working habits: → Valuing deep, focused work over task switching → Recognizing rest is important for productivity → Measuring success by the quality of output → Creating boundaries to allow work-life balance This is the reason we’ve created the DevHealth OS. The DHOS provides a framework for burnout prevention, recovery, and achieving optimal performance at work. Our goal? Help you rediscover the joy in your work and create a work week you look forward to. → One that's filled with joy and rest → One that's paced calmly, free from urgency → One that's allowing you to do your best work Read more in our Developer Health OS here: https://lnkd.in/e_t5mXHP

As a developer community manager for G2i Inc., I've noticed a couple of topics that keep popping up in our conversations. One that really stands out? Neurodiversity in tech, especially ADHD. 🧠 A few months back, I had a great chat with Virsaviya Efraim. When she mentioned her passion for embracing neurodiversity in tech, I knew right away that Michelle Bakels (Dev Health Queen 👑) and I had to do something with her! So, I'm super excited to share an event we're putting together for September 10th. We're going to talk about what's often left unsaid: ADHD in development. What is it, really? How does it show up in our work? And most importantly, how can we harness its potential? This event is free and open to everyone. Hope you can join us! 💌 RSVP here: https://lu.ma/imkzwu7z

We're very excited to share the recording of yesterday's event, "LLM: Everything you wanted to know but were too afraid to ask," featuring the brilliant Christopher Chedeau (@vjeux) of Prettier, Meta, and React Native - moderated by Michelle Bakels (@MichelleBakels). With over 400 attendees, and despite a few technical hiccups (because, well, tech!), we'd classify the event an awesome success thanks to our amazing audience and legendary speaker and host. 👏 👇 Link to the recording in the comments Thanks everyone, and see you in the next one! #LLM #TechTalks

The creator of React Native and Prettier, Christopher Chedeau (x.com/vjeux), is joining us next week for to talk called "LLM's: Everything you wanted to know but were too afraid to ask." He'll explain very deep concepts around LLM's in simpler terms without loosing the accuracy of the concept. He showed me the slides and I was impressed. Whether you know alot about LLM's or not, you'll learn something from his talk and 30 minute Q&A. Christopher gave this talk at Meta and everyone absolutely loved it, so we figured we need to bring it to a wider audience. Join us Tuesday August 20th at Noon ET! RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/e5P_KqmD
