We are testing critical systems including operation of our bottling and fulfillment systems, and we expect to begin safely shipping a limited number of orders as early as this afternoon. The safety and well-being of our team will remain our first priority, and we continue to support them as they focus on their individual and family needs. Our Gaian family, our Farm, and our company are resilient, and we realize how fortunate we are to be able to share the good news that our staff is safe, and our facilities received minimal damage. We’re taking this opportunity to update you with hopeful news we’ve gathered over the past few days:     Our People:  * As harvest season comes to a close, we helped 15 of our seasonal Farm Crew return to their loved ones in Mexico. We look forward to welcoming them back next Spring to kick off the next season.  * Our Farm Crew Housing has power, and many of our staff have been able to use it for showers and washing laundry.  * On Wednesday, our Farmhouse hosted multiple Gaian families for a hot, farm-to-table lunch. Seeing faces around the table and children playing on the Farm is a beautiful reminder of the love throughout our Gaian community.     Our Farm & Facilities:  * Our Greenhouse has been running on generator power since Friday, growing many of next season’s herbs. We are working to restore the farm to its natural beauty and will be ready to plant these herbs on time next Spring.  * We anticipate having power restored to our facilities in the coming days and look forward to returning to normal operations.    We are happy to report we are receiving orders at gaiaherbs.com. If you have recently placed an order, we thank you for your patience while we work toward getting our facilities back in operating order and resume normal shipping. Our Customer Service phone lines are still down, but we are supporting email as quickly as possible. If you need to reach our Customer Service team, please email info@gaiaherbs.com     We are incredibly grateful for the support our customers and partners have shown us and our region over the past week. Stay tuned for more operational updates.

Gaians supporting Gaians is the heart of our organization.     Gaians – both local and remote – have banded together to collect and deliver needed supplies to our employees and their families in Western North Carolina. We've opened our facilities to Gaians and their families to access supplies, clean water and showers. Most importantly, our facilities serve as a place for Gaians and their families to reconnect and gather together over a hot meal.      Day by day, we’re finding new ways to support our Gaian community throughout our recovery. As one of the largest employers in Transylvania County, NC, supporting our employees and their families is our first step in making an impact on local recovery.      We thank you all for your positive words, thoughts, and support every step of the way. If you are seeking ways to support recovery across North Carolina, or are personally in need of support, we encourage you to visit government resources at https://lnkd.in/ei_3CfiP

As part of the Western North Carolina community, our Gaian family has experienced the unprecedented impacts from Hurricane Helene. We are working diligently to fully connect with all our employees in the affected communities to confirm everyone is safe.  The safety and well-being of our Gaian family is our foremost priority and we thank you for your patience as we focus our efforts there. We are working together with our community to support local recovery efforts. Our Farm Crew – many of whom live on the Farm – are safe and have access to necessary supplies. We will continue to update you as we work through our recovery efforts.  There are many incredible organizations providing relief to our local and regional communities, and we are inspired by their efforts. Farm Friday! Today, we're showing off how our Farm and Sustainability Teams measure carbon sequestration at the Gaia Herbs Farm. Zach West - Farm Operations Manager - and Ashley Walgren, MS - Sustainability & Social Impact Senior Specialist - tell you all about why carbon sequestration is important, how it is measured, and what we're doing at the farm to help address climate concerns! Carbon sequestration is the process of capturing and storing atmospheric carbon dioxide - a key driver of climate change! Healthy soil naturally captures carbon, which helps support the growth of healthy plants (the foundation for our herbal supplements). Disruptions in soil (like tilling) release carbon back into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change and diminishing plant health. This is one reason the Gaia Farm practices regenerative farming techniques - to help offset our own carbon emissions, protect the environment, and grow healthy plants for healthy supplements (for healthy bodies). Learn more about our sustainability efforts and check out our 2023 Sustainability Report here: https://lnkd.in/ehDgn-Q

Our Global Sourcing team recently visited our Milk Thistle sourcing partners in Spain and Austria to spend some time getting to know how this powerful ingredient is grown, harvested, and processed! Our Milk Thistle starts in Central Europe, where it is grown on organic farms, and cut and dried right in the field. The seeds are selected for their high potency, ensuring we are getting the best Milk Thistle available and - more importantly - we're doing what's best for the earth and our partners through supporting organic farming and fair wages for everyone along our supply chain.   After harvest, our Milk Thistle heads to Spain, where it is extracted using a proprietary process that ensures we're getting the highest quality Milk Thistle extract on the market. Milk Thistle has traditionally been used to promote liver and digestive wellness, and is an important ingredient in our liver and cleanse products.* Gaia Herbs sells Milk Thistle in single herb formulas like our Milk Thistle capsules, liquid extract, and gummies, and in multi-herb blends like Liver Cleanse and Liver Health capsules.
