Gaia-X Association for Data and Cloud (AISBL) is helping to build the Data economy. Data is the new oil; it is time to establish a Data Economy that services citizens and protects privacy. The Data Utility Economy involves building the foundations for the Data Utility Commission and establishing the wellheads on data to protect Texans' privacy and data sovereignty. Advancing Sovereign Data Exchanges and developing a Data Utility Commission would support the creation of Public-Private Partnership “Data Exchanges,” which will allow secure, private, and transactional sharing of valuable data assets with trusted and approved partners and become a new economic platform for the communities they serve. Data Privacy, Security, Trust, and Sovereignty are foundational to all these new industries. Data exchanges will allow other community solution providers to leverage the petabytes of data captured by autonomous cars and IoT devices. They will also enable privacy constraints on the collected data. If Data is the new oil, It is time to establish a Data Economy that services the citizens and protects privacy. Data Utility Commission. Building the foundations for the Data Utility Commission, establishing the wellheads on data to protect Texans' privacy and data sovereignty. The Railroad Commission of Texas monitors the oil from the wellhead to the meter at the gas station; there's an entire economy that sits between them. We often hear data discussed from the privacy and security standpoint but not the economy as a whole. Many aspects of privacy are at the end of the data pipeline and could be considered the meter at the gas station. Texas, the State of the Future, will lead with Intelligent Infrastructure Economic Zones, which is foundational to our nation's future. The Data Utility Commission creates that entire economy for Data. AI, privacy, and commerce are all about Data, and we need to tame AI by controlling the FUEL that drives the machines - DATA.
