Our 2023 Legacy Award goes to Rebecca Medrano from GALA Hispanic Theatre! Rebecca Medrano is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of GALA Hispanic Theatre, which for more than 45 years has promoted and shared Hispanic arts and culture within the Washington, DC community. Medrano has also served as the principal development and marketing staff member, managing GALA’s capital campaign and developing its strategic marketing plan. Alongside her husband, producing artistic director Hugo Medrano, who passed away earlier this year, GALA has developed and produced works that explore the breadth of Hispanic performing arts in the region.
