Galls was proud to host the Kentucky Body Armor Grants Program Vest Shoot to kick off this year’s Kentucky Sheriff’s Association (KSA) Conference, bringing together sheriff departments from across the state to experience the importance of ballistic protection firsthand. Held at the picturesque Green River Gun Club in Bowling Green, KY, the event provided an opportunity for over 20 attendees to see Galls' commitment to outfitting sheriffs with the best protection available. With Sheriff Hightower leading as the event host, attendees were guided through a detailed ballistic demonstration by Point Blank Enterprises, Inc., who explained the science behind body armor. Several firearms and ballistics were tested, showcasing the effectiveness of modern ballistic vests. Attendees were able to see both the inner layers of the vests and the expended bullets, reinforcing the life-saving role this protection plays for our sheriff departments. On Saturday, Sept. 7, our incredible Minnesota Branch and Sales team were out in Anoka, Minnesota, taking part in an inspiring community engagement event—the 2024 Ruck Life Twin Cities, organized by 23rd Veteran. They rucked alongside military, police, fire, and sheriff’s departments, their family and friends, and other community members to raise awareness for veteran mental health and prevent veteran suicide. This 10-mile Ruck March is more than just a physical challenge; it’s a meaningful way to support 23rd Veteran’s mission of creating happier and healthier lives for veterans. The weighted rucksacks carried by participants symbolize the burdens veterans often bear, and we’re proud that our team was part of this incredible event, building connections and showing our support. From August 22-24, the Firefighter Challenge Southeast Regional Classic showcased incredible talent, determination, and teamwork. The FCL pits elite firefighters from around the world against each other – and the clock. The Lexington Fire Department- KY performed exceptionally well this year. Many records were broken, and several new members earned their place in the prestigious Lion’s Den. Saturday night, we wrapped up the event with a Happy Hour at Halligan's, hosted by Galls and the Lexington Fire Department. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, celebrate, and honor the incredible achievements of these brave men and women. From August 9-13, 2024, we had the privilege of attending the NOBLE - National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives 48th Annual Training Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans, LA—an international gathering of over 2,000 law enforcement professionals representing communities across the nation and the world. This conference was a powerful experience, showcasing the best of leadership and training initiatives in the law enforcement community.
