Thank you so much to the team at Microsoft for another fantastic fundraising event!
I've just awoken from a long rest... One of my favorite things about working at Microsoft is the annual #MicrosoftGive campaign. This campaign supports awareness and drives action to a myriad of non-profit organizations that are supported by employees across the entire company. The past few years I've gotten very involved in what's now become an institution of the Give campaign: a 24-hour long Dungeons & Dragons Marathon. Our organization is global, and finding ways host an event that includes every time zone around the world is challenging but getting a crew of awesome and motivated people together to stay awake hosting a production for 24 hours straight makes this possible. This year, the marathon focused on raising funds for Game to Grow and The Nature Conservancy, and we set a lofty goal of raising US$100,000 in donations - and I'm proud to say we handily defeated our goal! This isn't my event: I'm proud to be just one small piece of an amazing team that put this together and ran the event. There are far too many people to list everyone, so I'll tag a few of the folks that I worked closely with to help make the event a huge success: Dungeon Master Extraordinaire: Dennis Nichol The behind-the-scenes team that I worked with closely: Thomas, Lloyd, Josie, Megan, Ryan, Jonathan, Erin and too many chat moderators to count! Our core cast of characters that went for between 8 and 24 hours straight: Randy, Daniel, Chris, Satoko, Jonathon, Leo, Navin... I'm probably forgetting some! The original members of the Platinum Strongbox who we keep finding ways to sneak into the storyline: Kat, Josie, and Christopher Now to start planning for next year...
