What if video games could teach real-world science? That’s exactly what I explored in this GameClass project! An ichthyology game based out of the aquarium in Animal Crossing. Using the fun, interactive elements of Animal Crossing, I designed a game where players identify, classify, and learn fascinating facts about different fish species. The goal? Make learning about marine life engaging, accessible, and immersive. Why this works: ✅ Gamification boosts retention. Players naturally engage with content when it’s interactive. ✅ Bridging entertainment & education. Using familiar game mechanics makes complex topics more digestible. ✅ Hands-on learning. Instead of memorization, students explore, collect, and discover. Excited to keep experimenting with game-based learning and finding new ways to make education more engaging!
