From the Mahaska Chamber & Development Group: Oskaloosa Schools held a ceremony to show off their new baseball field & facility—115,000 square feet of synthetic turf, new backstops, bullpens, fencing, automated sports broadcasting technology and an upgraded LED lighting system. All this made possible through partnerships with Musco, Iowa Sports Turf, Veenstra Construction, Overbergen Electric, Garden & Associates and others. Following SEASONS of problems with WATER, the versatility of this turf is amazing and can be used by soccer, softball, baseball, band, strength and speed training, football and so on. Athletic Director Ryan Parker led the ceremony. The ribbon was cut by senior baseball players, school and athletic staff, board members, and many involved in the project, many of whom were invited to throw in the first pitch(es). Kenny Roethler of G&A was able to throw an opening pitch with his son as catcher.

  • Oskaloosa, Iowa – Summer 2023 – The District’s baseball field was somewhat known to be on the soggy side, and play was limited during wet periods due to adverse surface conditions. Garden & Associates was selected to team with the District, Musco Corporation, and Iowa Sports Turf to design a rebuild of the facility which incorporates a fully synthetic turf field for the baseball team and fans to enjoy. In addition to the new turf this project includes field underdrainage, new fencing, a cutting edge backstop system, and other great features. OCSD can rest easy knowing that this spring their field will be fit for play regardless of the forecast. https://lnkd.in/gJ-2QgTg
