What a great ending to National Disability Employment Awareness Month. On Tuesday the 29th, at Eglin Air Force Base, our GCE custodial crew enjoyed pristine weather for their NDEAM event. Great team members who totally enjoyed our own version of "Taco Tuesday" for lunch. Meaningful work and providing access to good jobs for all is our mission at GCE. No one should not have the opportunity to pursue jobs they are truly passionate about. A special congratulations to Michelle Raandaan on winning two gold medals recently at the regional Special Olympics competition in NW Florida.

On Friday October 25th, GCE had our largest NDEAM event at Naval Air Station Pensacola. The fun theme was Hawaiian luau with our own team members showcasing an authentic hula dance. NDEAM - National Disability Employment Awareness Month - each October is a celebration of our team members and their many accomplishments over the last year. This group of food and custodial team members, including our custodial team from Whiting Field, provide exceptional service to our military customers. We deeply appreciate all that our team members do each and every day. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity for meaningful work if that is their goal. Having a disability should not stop anyone for pursuing their dreams. #NDEAM #AbilityinDisability

On October 23d, GCE team members at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington set up a unique and fun NDEAM (National Disability Employment Awareness Month) event for their celebration. Mardi Gras was their theme for the day which only means a good time for all present. John Osterholm, JBLM's contracting officer for our food services contract on base, joined in the celebration. John wanted to support and recognize our GCE team members on their exceptional service and dedication to the military men and women on base. Vadis, one of our local partner agencies that helps us recruit new team members but also provides services and support, set up a booth at the event to help provide information about current programs and services available for team members with disabilities. Great team all year long and we celebrate their success stories and team work all year long! #NDEAM #teamwork #AbilityOne
