Hacking Hardware 🛠️ This weekend, I drove all the way to San Francisco for General Lithium & Omi AI’s Hardware Hackathon. Me and my amazing team built on Omi’s Friend Dev Kit to create Flat Friend as a way to conversate with a comedic robot and has deeper analytical capabilities to summarize the conversation. We used REST APIs, Llama, and the Omi phone app to talk to the connected necklace for our entry. Thanks to my teammates Ramy Rady, Ph.D., John Huang, Sako M, and Josephine Declerck and the organizers for creating such a fun event. Happy hacking! 🛠️🚀

thank you to everyone who came out to the hack!
Another week, another hackathon 🚢🏖️🐶 Had a great time to join hardware hackathon today. It was a pleasure, to team up with Josephine Declerck Ramy Rady, Ph.D. John Huang Joseph Karam and meet besties Steven Echtman Henry Kendall and rest. The project was called amigo. ✅ Motivation: In the past, data was created and stored mostly on paper. With the internet, digital data creation and hyperconnectivity exploded, but our capacity to consume data didn’t increase. Unless, brain computer interface technologies advance and unlock our natural limits. ✅ Fun fact: Attention is a new oil, not data😀 90% of the world's data was generated in the last two years alone in 2023-2024, thx to ai. ✅ Problem: We are overwhelmed by a constant stream of data, making it hard to focus on what really matters for us. ✅ Solution: AI-powered devices like smart glasses or wearables can filter out noise, helping us focus on the right signals and save our attention span. We partially succeeded, as we were able to pull data from Omi necklace, but we faced few challanges with Meta glasses streaming to laptop and test with llama 3.2 multimodality. Unfortunately, the sdk is not open yet, so we were trying to get the data via other integrations. Still, work in progress, gonna share repo later. Anna Hollingsworth Justin Zelaya Lastly, it was my first visit at General-lithium. It is a great hacker space with cool vibes, great for hosting events, coworking etc. Membership deal is great 100/200$ for the folks were asking for space in SF: +free on thursdays and fridays.
