We hosted our first Cornhole Competition for our employees last Friday. Despite the gloomy weather brought on by Hurricane Helene, we moved the event indoors to the parking garage and still had a blast! Teams battled it out for prizes, and everyone contributed to the setup and cleanup. Special thanks to Andrew Ricker for designing and building the Genesis AEC custom cornhole boards and to Neil Leonard, P.E. for creating the brackets. El Toro Serrano served up gourmet tacos, brisket cheesesteaks, and churros drizzled in chocolate. Congrats to the winning team, Steven Keyek and Shawn Lignore!! Finishing in second, Josh Blair and Derek J. Ickes, LEED. Thank you all for making this a wonderful event! Pictured below: Gregory DiDomenico Kevin Hollenbeck, AIA Michael Snader, P.E. The invite is extended. Check it out below.
Today, The Satell Institute hosted another dynamic session of our Executive Roundtable Series, bringing together top leaders from NY-to-DC. These leaders are chosen due to their commitment to the growth of their employees, organization, and surrounding communities I was honored to have William Branum (Decorated Navy SEAL, best selling author, motivational speaker, & CEO) kick off the conversation on the science & art of building a team and driving organizational culture. Key takeaways from the group conversation included: 1 - How leaders can effectively influence, inspire, and educate teams. 2 - How challenging economic times and uncertainty can be the catalyst for innovation. 3 - The shift to hiring based on “how they think” vs. “what they know.” 4 - Building job leveling and job archetyping maps to clarify success and career growth. *And that was just the tip of the iceberg! I wanted to thank today’s participants for their insights, questions, and perspectives on the call. Dara Schnee (Kennedy Krieger Institute) Kristi Yowell, (Loyola University Maryland) David Howry (Holt Logistics Corp.) Jerome Tennille (HITT Contracting Inc.) Fritz Roegge (Holtec International) Robbie Doran, (Vanguard) JB Hersch Michael Marone (Genesis AEC) If you're an executive interested in particpating in these monthly conversations (and more) - please reach out.
