You’ll never capture both art and science if you see divergence as subversive. …a scientist might conduct experiments and analyze data, but it is often the creative thinking that leads to breakthrough discoveries or innovative applications of that data. Similarly, an artist might draw from scientific principles to create visually stunning works, but it is their unique perspective and emotional resonance that engage viewers and provoke thought.

For years I had the quote “In quietness and confidence shall be your strength” taped to my computer. It served as a beacon of hope and resilience. This philosophy reminds us that the universe has a unique path laid out for each of us, where every setback is not a dead end but a stepping stone toward our true purpose. Embracing the notion that “obstacles are opportunities” transforms our perspective, encouraging us to view difficulties as chances for growth and self-discovery. Together, these concepts inspire us to trust the journey, harness our inner strength, and find meaning in every twist and turn of life. With this mindset, we can cultivate perseverance, embrace change, and ultimately unlock our fullest potential. Strength is often confused with loudness and vibrato, but it has always occurred to me, this particular fallacy holds up an ineffectual status quo; there is profound power in stillness and introspection. When you embrace obstacles as opportunities to flex your well earned muscle or to redirect you to something that allows for that, you can release your will and attachment. You are energy and thus cannot be created nor destroyed.

Where there is no certainty, continuity must be found inside yourself. External locus of control seems too much like giving away all of your power. Shifting from an external locus of control to an internal locus of control can be a powerful mindset change. It involves recognizing that you have the power to influence your outcomes through your actions and decisions. Here are some steps you can take to make this shift: 💡Self-awareness: Start by reflecting on your current mindset and identifying areas where you tend to attribute control to external factors. Awareness is the first step towards change. 💡Take responsibility: Accept that you are in control of your own actions and decisions. Instead of blaming external circumstances for your outcomes, take ownership and accountability for your choices. 💡Set goals: Define clear and achievable goals for yourself. By setting specific objectives, you can focus on what you can do to achieve them rather than relying on external factors. 💡Develop problem-solving skills: Work on developing your problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles and challenges that come your way. This will help you feel more empowered and in control of your outcomes. 💡Practice positive self-talk: Replace negative self-talk with positive affirmations that reinforce your ability to influence your outcomes. Encourage yourself and believe in your capabilities. 💡Seek support: Surround yourself with people who empower and support you in your journey towards internal locus of control. Seek guidance from mentors or therapists if needed. Remember that shifting from an external locus of control to an internal one is a process that takes time and effort. Stay committed to this mindset shift, and you will gradually start to feel more empowered and in control of your life. Thanks for coming to my talk. 😌
