A few weeks ago, Matthew Shadid and I sat down with reporter Alicia Tang to discuss our work at Gen-Z for Financial Literacy, Gen-Z consumer spending habits, and the importance of personal finance education. Our interview was recently published in the Times Union, and you can read the article here: https://lnkd.in/eevjVNyb. A big thank you to Alicia Tang and the Albany Times Union for giving us the opportunity to talk about our organization and the state of youth financial literacy—it was a fantastic conversation!

Yesterday, The Times Union released an article by Alicia Tang on the current state of personal finance in Gen Z. It's an excellent gauge of financial literacy from the eyes of our generation. She does a great job highlighting predatory consumer practices on social media that disproportionately affect young adults. Still, she balances this by discussing the aspects of personal finance that are within our control. Stephen Lin and I are also featured! Check it out below. https://lnkd.in/e_-FMZZS

Earlier this month, Gen-Z for Financial Literacy was invited to present at the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) 2024 Annual Meeting in San Diego. During the conference, Matthew Shadid and I had the privilege of speaking alongside Dr. Demma Cabral and Pantea Rahimian, LCSW. Our discussion underscored the importance of youth financial literacy and the link between personal finance and health; we also covered how healthcare providers can play an essential role in empowering youth to look after their financial wellness. Thank you to Dr. Cabral and Pantea for partnering with us to convey this important message to medical professionals in California and across the country. The SAHM 2024 Annual Meeting was a fantastic platform to explore the relationship between personal finance and health, and we are excited to continue our work in expanding access to personal finance education.
