  • One of America’s finest public servants, Judge William Webster, former Director of the FBI and CIA, yesterday presented a bipartisan group of Members of Congress with copies of “Character Matters…and Other Life Lessons from George H.W. Bush." Picture #1: Judge Webster and his wife Lynda being greeted by Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) Picture #2: Senator Collins showing the Websters a picture of her and President George H.W. Bush in Kennebunkport Picture #3: Judge Webster with Senator Collins (R-ME), Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and Author Jean Becker Picture #4: Judge Webster with Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Ranking Member Gregory Meeks (D-NY) of the House Foreign Affairs Committee  Judge Webster, now 100 years old, is giving every member of Congress a copy of this book, written by President Bush’s post presidency chief of staff, Jean Becker. As Judge Webster says in his letter to Members of Congress which accompanies the book, “I appeal to you as a leader of our country to do all you can to lead by example and to show others that collaboration, cooperation, and yes, character does matter in what we do as a nation.”

  • Today, we remember and honor the lives lost and the bravery shown on 9/11. To the first responders, the families who endured enormous loss, and everyone who came together in the face of adversity, we salute you and pledge to never forget. Pictured here, President and Mrs. Bush were presented an American flag that was flown at the World Trade Center as part of a 9/11 exhibit at the Bush Library & Museum in 2002.
