  • 📚 Congratulations to Myrsini Mamoli on her article published in The Conversation U.S.! 🎉 We are thrilled to share that Myrsini Mamoli, a lecturer in the School of Architecture, has had her article published in The Conversation. In her thought-provoking piece, “From ancient emperors to modern presidents, leaders have used libraries to cement their legacies,” Myrsini explores the enduring connection between architectural legacy and the creation of libraries. This piece is especially timely as we reflect on the role of libraries in our culture and history—how they transcend time to become living monuments to the values they represent. From Emperor Trajan’s Ulpian Library in ancient Rome to the presidential libraries of modern-day U.S. presidents, Myrsini draws fascinating parallels between these monumental spaces. She highlights how these libraries were not only centers of knowledge but also powerful symbols used by leaders to shape their legacies for generations to come. Myrsini’s expertise in ancient Greek and Roman architecture, combined with her innovative work in digital archaeology, brings new perspectives to how we understand and reconstruct historical spaces.
