About us
Geoscience for the Future is a not-for-profit initiative set up in 2020 to communicate the links between Geoscience and a more sustainable future. We aim to promote our subject to a wider audience, connect with students, and encourage the next generation of geoscientists to join us in tackling the major challenges facing our society.

Our virtual French Geology Exchange is BACK! Get involved in quick and virtual cross-cultural Geoscience outreach! This is the 4th year we will have worked on this initiative with Bordeaux University in France, due to excellent feedback from the students on working with our geoscience volunteers! The idea is that students studying English choose a geoscience topic to deep dive into, and have a brief online interview (in English) with a geoscientist to help them with their assessment. WHAT: We are looking for geoscientists to volunteer for one or two virtual outreach interviews (over Zoom/Teams). Students will ask you questions about a theme (see below). WHEN: Interviews need to be in February/March 2024, and can be arranged to find a time that suits you. WHO: The students have chosen from broad geoscience themes - many of which have multiple specialisms nested within them, and some which overlap- if your expertise fits into any of these themes, we'd love to have you involved! Feel free to volunteer for more than one theme if you're keen! GET IN TOUCH: Drop the Geoscience for the Future team an email on geoforthefuture@gmail.com to get involved!
