We stabilized a 350-foot weathered rock slope above an interstate, addressing instabilities through manual scaling, rock excavation, drilling, and rock bolt installation. To reinforce the slope, we applied high-strength pinned steel mesh. For added safety, we installed a temporary rockfall protection barrier. Advanced equipment like wagon drills and high-reach excavator-mounted rigs allowed us to complete the project efficiently from the shoulder grade. #RockFallBarrier #RockSlope #SlopeStabilization #GeotechnicalEngineering #RockfallMitigation #EngineeringSolutions

A storm exposed weaknesses in an old mesh installed 22 years ago along a key downtown route, prompting the City to choose a soil nail and shotcrete stabilization. Our team removed the outdated mesh, installed soil nails and strip drains, and applied 640 linear feet of shotcrete over 27,500 sq. ft. We ensured community safety with dust suppression, noise control, and traffic management. Despite challenging terrain, the project was completed efficiently and safely, showcasing our team's adaptability and expertise. #SlopeStabilization #InfrastructureSafety #GeotechnicalEngineering #SoilNailing #Shotcrete

Last week, we marked a significant milestone for GeoStabilization International® as we transitioned to new ownership. This moment not only reflects our collective effort but also brings substantial financial rewards to our dedicated employees, with payments ranging from $10,000 to over $300,000. As our CEO, Dominic Ivankovich, highlighted, 'The transaction itself is noteworthy, but what makes the day most special is the knowledge that all employees of GSI will share in the success of this moment. This shared prosperity model empowers every employee to become an owner.' Let's continue to build on this incredible foundation together and embrace the exciting journey ahead! #OwnershipReallyWork
Yesterday I had one of the proudest moments of my career when I had the opportunity to share the news regarding KKR’s sale of GeoStabilization International® to Leonard Green & Partners (LGP). It has been an incredible last couple of years where I have marveled at the character, tenacity, and capability of the GSI team and the results they have delivered. While the transaction itself is noteworthy, what makes the day most special is the knowledge that all employees of GSI and our various companies will share in the success of this moment. Expanding the mindset of shared prosperity was a dream of Peter Stavros, who continues to inspire us and many others through his work at Ownership Works, to find ways to make capitalism work for everyone. This dream was not a trade for wages but rather a belief that innovation and great work comes from everywhere in an organization and all should participate in its associated value creation. When KKR first purchased GSI in 2018, all employees were made owners of the company as part of a movement to expand employee ownership across organizations. Over the last six years, we have made a number of acquisitions and I’m proud to say that in those moments, all those individuals became owners in the company. The announcement yesterday is the culmination of contributions from individuals across our organization. In recognition of their achievements and loyalty to the organization, all employees will be receiving a payment from the sale the organization. These payments will be as much as $325,000 for our hourly workforce depending level and tenure. Moreover, KKR has prepaid for tax and financial planning services for the team. Looking back on my time at GSI, I am truly humbled by the experience. Since the day I arrived, the support and commitment to doing the right thing has been truly inspiring. I want to extend a deep thank you to everyone at KKR, especially Peter Stavros for pioneering the Ownership Works movement, to Brandon Brahm and Eric Stout for unwavering support, to Lance Reisman and our Board of Directors who have been hugely influential in the journey, to Colby Barrett, J.D., P.E. and the founders of all our businesses who had the courage to take an idea to realization, to families of all our teammates who’s support we cannot do our jobs without, and especially to my team and all employees of GSI who consistently go the extra mile to help make the world a safer place and GSI a great place to work. Looking forward, I’m thrilled to continue with GSI as we embark on a new journey with Leonard Green & Partners (LGP). Our entire leadership team looks forward to building on our tremendous legacy and the employee ownership model as we seek new heights for the business. #LetsRunItBack, #Repeat, #DoItAgain, #OwnershipReallyWorks, #JoinTheMovement CNBC Piece - https://lnkd.in/gCHzp78a

In a past project, GSI successfully rebuilt a critical retaining system after the failure of a steel rail and timber lagging wall caused slope instability near railroad tracks. To stabilize the tracks and provide space for a track shoulder, we designed and installed a custom retaining wall spanning 72 track feet. Our solution included soil nails, steel H-Piles, and precast lagging panels, with 28-foot-long soil nails for reinforced stability. This design ensured long-term support for the tracks and surrounding infrastructure. Curious about how we can tackle complex stabilization challenges? Let’s discuss your next project. https://ow.ly/Q6a450TvIlM.

Permanent Soil Nail Wall Construction At GSI, we're not just stabilizing slopes—we’re engineering long-lasting solutions. This project involved designing and constructing a permanent soil nail wall, reinforced with steel-shotcrete facing. This top-down construction approach features three rows of soil nails extending up to 20 feet behind the wall, ensuring stability and durability. With a surface area of approximately 8,900 square feet, the wall is built in 5-foot lifts, meticulously coordinated with excavation to maintain stability throughout the process.
