Criss-cross applesauce, it's earthquake lesson time in Pre-K! We read books about earthquakes, colored the national seismic hazard maps (I thought they captured the epistemic uncertainty brilliantly), and did shake table tests of magna-tile, Jenga, and LEGO buildings! Here's to these future scientists and engineers!

One of the things I appreciate the most about working at #Geosyntec is the opportunity to lead challenging projects, and the collaborative spirit. We are curently leading a PFAS vadose zone investigation in Tucson Arizona in collaboration with the #UniversityofArizona, and our teaming partner #AhtnaGlobal. On this project, we are collecting high resolution PFAS soil samples, moisture samples, soil physical and geochemical characteristics and installing clustered Lysimeters to depths up to 90-ft to assess PFAS transport in the vadose zone. Special thanks to our exceptional Arizona staff for the excellent work on this project Matthew Bigler Tory Luttermoser Jennifer Isbell

Our Sydney team had the opportunity to tour Envirolab Group's extensive facilities, where the intricate process of asbestos fibre extraction stood out as a major highlight. Observing the microscope assessment and fibre extraction, and seeing the colour schemes related to fibre types, gave us a deeper appreciation of the meticulousness and manual labour involved in achieving accurate asbestos results. In addition to being one of our primary lab partners in Australia, Envirolab has continuously supported us professionally with in-office presentations and lab tours for our environmental engineers, auditors, and scientists. Thanks to David Springer and Jeremy Faircloth who help us target laboratory analyses to meet our clients’ needs, develop site-specific analytical methods, and troubleshoot unexpected laboratory results. #EnvirolabSydney #AsbestosAnalyses #SiteInvestigationandRemediation #GeosyntecAustralia

Back home after an incredible week in northern California. I spent part of the week with fellow leaders of our Geosyntec Consultants practice groups -- we swapped ideas and brainstormed how to enhance the program that supports ALL of our practitioners across our growing and diverse firm. Thankful for the opportunity for open collaboration with Todd Creamer, Julie Walters, CPSWQ, Hamid Amini, Ph.D., P.E., Mike Hayes, Scott Graves, Paula Hutchison, P. Eng., Anica Haynes, Fabiana Arriaga, Suzanne O'Hara, Eric Suchomel, Ph.D., P.E., Andrew Higgins, Travis Kline, Juliann Chen, Dave Himmelheber, and Max Dugan and our fearless leadership and support team Rula Deeb, Evan Cox, Javier Suarez, and Evi Villapiana! I was also fortunate to bookend the trip in our Davis and Oakland offices getting to meet with friends, colleagues, and some of our newest hires! Katherine Cheng, PhD candidate at UC Davis, has joined us for the summer internship program and has truly hit the ground running!
