About us
Geothermal Rising (GR) is the largest and oldest geothermal membership organization in the world. GR serves to build community and empower the geothermal industry by aligning all geothermal technologies and applications. The heating, cooling, and electricity benefits from geothermal technologies come from geothermal/ground source heat pumps; direct use and thermal energy networks; drilling and rig operations; turbine manufacturing; and conventional hydrothermal, engineered/enhanced, closed-loop/advanced, and supercritical hot rock processes. GR is a nonprofit educational association, community organizer, and research organization. GR actively seeks to amplify its role as a primary professional and educational association for the international geothermal community and serve as a focal point for continuing professional development for its members and external audiences through its outreach, education, information transfer, and education services

Characterizing geothermal reservoirs is complicated whether data availability is low or high, which can be counterintuitive. This session will include contributions that provide information on the utility and limitations of reservoir modeling approaches, what advances have been made over the last 20+ years, and what is needed as geothermal development continues.Thursday, ⏰: August 1, 2024, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM Session Chair: Justin Birdwell Panelists: Tijn Nederstigt Chris Bowie Stanley Mordensky Nicole Wagoner Register HERE: https://bit.ly/3Y4LXxU

Consequently, reservoir characterization workflows, drilling technology, production techniques, and reservoir monitoring plans are highly variable depending on the type of geothermal reservoir being targeted. This session will discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with exploration and development in all types of geothermal reservoirs from both geologic and engineering standpoints. The session chair is Eric Stautberg (Colorado School of Mines) Panelists include: Andy Sabin Tony Pink Shuvajit Bhattacharya, PhD Whitney Trainor-Guitton, PhD Emma McConville, MSc.
