Geophysical surveys of concrete spillways are an essential part of understanding dam health. GEOVision uses a variety of sesimic sources, but this one is my favorite. This IVI T-15000 nicknamed "Elvis" provides P & S wave energy for high resolution seismic reflection surveys. He is particularly useful when mapping faults and other subsurface geological features in urban areas. Here's another very cool project we are working on. One of our field team members is using an acoustic televiewer borehole tool to log deformation of a steel cased borehole that was drilled through an active landslide. Daily logging is showing areas of deformation and shearing of the casing which will eventually be destroyed by the landslide's force. GEOVision uses different types of equipment depending on the buried target. Here our expert Geophysicist uses a #Geometrics G-858 in search mode to look for buried oil wells.
