Milestone submissions occur within the ACGME Accreditation Data System (ADS) for each program. The reporting window for the mid-year milestones is from October 28, 2024, to January 10, 2025. All programs must submit milestone reports for all "active" residents and fellows in their program.

As you navigate the recruitment and interview season, Germane Solutions wants to remind you of a crucial task: conducting mid-year Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) meetings and submitting mid-year Milestone reports to the ACGME. To assist you during this process, we've included some of our best practices: ✅Maximize your RMS usage: The Residency Management System typically houses extensive evaluation and feedback data, so leverage it to simplify your CCC process. ✅Prepare before the meeting: Pre-meeting preparation can streamline your CCC meetings. Providing CCC members with resident or fellow evaluation packets in advance, assigning committee members to specific residents or fellows for review, or offering insights into evaluation methods and metrics are effective ways to ensure your CCC meeting is structured and successful. ✅Use a user-friendly minute template: Accurate and comprehensive CCC minutes are critical, especially in cases involving underperforming residents or fellows or corrective actions. Having an easy-to-use minute template can greatly assist in this task. ✅Evaluate your committee members: Ensure you have an appropriate mix of members who are engaged in resident and fellow education, can provide honest and constructive feedback, and are dedicated to training. This helps guarantee that the CCC meetings and feedback provided to the Program Director—and ultimately to the residents and fellows—are appropriate and supportive.
