Success comes down to logic. Your success has a direct relationship to your failures. Let's say you have a 75% close rate. Pretty good success! A close rate that is above 60% can be seen as exceptional within some industries. At the same time, this does mean that you have a 25% failure rate in your deals. So, naturally, focus on the activities that helped create that 75%. Probably do more of what's working well, maybe value selling and objection handling. However, if you did more of what you're already doing well, you are not decreasing the rate of what you are doing wrong, leaving you stagnant. This is what going nowhere with a lot of effort looks like. This is exhaustion. Instead, apply some "AND" logic: As you improve the Probability of Success = P(S), AND mitigate the Probability of Failure = P(F), you increase your chances of reaching your desired outcomes. "You'll figure it out!" I have always been a fan of the Mission Impossible series. In the films, Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) and the team constantly face impossible challenges. When these impossible moments arise, someone asks (paraphrasing), "How on earth are we going to do that?!", to which the response is often, “You’ll figure it out!!” They're forced to just start, adapt along the way, and the outcome is what it is (not going to give any spoilers here 😅) Building careers and businesses will have a lot of those "impossible" moments, but - like the characters in the movie - the key is the desire to achieve the impossible. They start and find a way. In the late Bob proctor’s book, "Change Your Paradigm, Change Your Life.", he breaks down goals into A, B, and C levels. The "impossible" goals that are featured in Mission Impossible films mirror the pursuit of C-level goals - DREAM goals. "It's the house you want. It's the business you want. It's the accomplishment you want. You have no idea how to do it...and you don't have the wherewithal to make it happen, but you want it. That is the only true prerequisite for a goal: you've got to really want it." (pg. 30-32) C-level goals are dream goals—big, audacious, and daunting. Like Hunt’s missions, they don’t come with a clear plan. Achieving them requires shifting your paradigm, trusting your potential, and adopting a "figure it out" mindset. Start by really wanting that goal and doing EVERYTHING you can to make it happen. $163.4 Million That is the amount of net revenue that the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah generated. Sadly, the trend for hosting the Olympic games, both Summer and Winter, is to lose billions. Some recent and notable losses include: - 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China: -$40 billion - 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia: -$21.9 billion - 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan: -$15.4 billion With the Winter Olympics returning to SLC in 2034, Utah has an opportunity to kick that trend and get the Olympic Games back onto a revenue-generating path. Fortunately, Priorify®️ has a history with running successful Olympic Games. Two and a half years before the Calgary Olympics, the organizing committee collaborated with various stakeholders to set up the Results Compilation and Distribution System. Realizing the need for better coordination, they conducted a PriorityPath® project, addressing unmet needs and potential issues. If there were issues, such as the inability to report results within 2-5 seconds upon completion of an event, there were going to be severe financial penalties.
