Last week, we brought together the top devs and creatives in node-based AI for the first ever Comfy Leadership Summit. We made progress on node standards, front end UI, LLMs & agents, and other key topics facing the future of the space. Most of all, we solidified friendships across the most active members of the community -- bonds that are sure to bear fruit for years to come. Check out the keynote from Alex Duffy below and head to our YouTube channel for videos from all recorded sessions. #ComfyUI #GenerativeAI #LLMs https://lnkd.in/gt8wgk_g

It was a jam-packed week in the world of AI. Thankfully we've got your back with another 15 minute video digest 💪 Big news from OpenAI and Google, exciting advancements in robotics and AI, and the release of Salt in beta. That and much, much more in this week's video from Alex Duffy. https://lnkd.in/g-cS8XGQ

We decided to spend the weekend seeing how quickly we could build a clone of Perplexity, the AI search engine, on Salt. Then we open sourced it. Last week we released the public beta of Salt AI. The driving idea behind Salt, which lets users build, test, and deploy powerful workflows on an elastic GPU cloud, has always been to accelerate AI development. By that, we mean providing a development environment and open ecosystem that makes it easier and faster to go from idea, to proof-of-concept, to scalable, production-ready app. Our most active users, of course, are the members of our own team, who are always exploring the next exciting use case for the Salt platform. In that pursuit, we decided to spend the weekend seeing how quickly we could build a clone of Perplexity, the AI search engine. Like many others, we’re excited about Perplexity challenging Google in the search space by delivering a fantastic LLM-powered search experience. Perplexity recently raised $250M on an extremely impressive $3B valuation. We’re big fans of their product and agree that the best way to search in 2024 is through a conversational interface. But it’s not just Perplexity — a revolution is underway when it comes to the rapid development of AI-powered applications that can fetch enormous valuations and deliver huge value to their customers. The faster that innovators can ideate, prototype, iterate, and collaborate, the more we will see highly specialized and targeted AI solutions – with applications in healthcare, finance, logistics, commerce, and beyond – come from anywhere. We believe these solutions will be built on Salt. So we accepted our own challenge and set out to build our Perplexity clone over the weekend (spoiler alert…we did). Then we open sourced it to see what the community does next. Check out the video below to see how we did it. https://lnkd.in/gqgMqn5h

Another day, another release 🎁 These new Whisper nodes let you generate timestamped text transcriptions from audio/video inputs in #ComfyUI. Learn more in the video below. Nodes & example workflow: https://lnkd.in/g6_Yz3fc (h/t Jordan Thompson)

Open source documentation is a long-standing frustration for many. Like many in the #ComfyUI community, our team has struggled with inconsistent (or nonexistent) node documentation. So in typical comfy fashion, we built an LLM-powered workflow to generate documentation for not just the 200 default ComfyUI nodes, but 1400 custom ones. This is a first step toward making building with AI more accessible for both veterans and newcomers, and lays the foundation for even more exciting advancements coming soon. Learn more in our blog, and let us know how you would use this workflow: https://lnkd.in/gMyZ6DTR

The latest update from the Salt AI team allows users to generate controlled 3D parallax motion with a single prompt or input image. This #ComfyUI workflow (made by Jack Gane with nodes from Jordan Thompson) has exciting implications for improved motion control using animatediff. You can now create amazing animations using this workflow in any Discord with the Salt AI bot added. Head to https://discord.gg/saltai to get started and use the /play command to begin prompting! If you're a developer interested in running or modifying this workflow (or building your own), head to https://getsalt.ai to create your account. We're offering free access to L4 GPUs with 24GB of VRAM for the entire month of March, and you can easily deploy any workflow you create to be used in any Discord server. Once you’ve signed up, you can share node requests, product feedback, and ideas here: https://lnkd.in/gSMnzDmP Let us know what you think of this workflow in the comments below 👇
