From the classroom to graduation, the Next Engineers Academy Class is engineering the future, one tassel at a time. 🎓 32 students from Staffordshire, UK, are the first ever graduates from the program, designed to inspire the next generation of #engineers! The Engineering Academy is supported by The Inspirational Learning Group and GE Vernova engineer and employee volunteers. It offers students enrolling in qualified engineering or engineering-related degrees or apprenticeships partial scholarships to support them as they continue on their paths to becoming engineers. ⚒️ “It’s fantastic to see the positive impact the Next Engineers programme is having, not just in empowering the engineers of tomorrow but encouraging diversity within engineering. #GEVernova is wrapping up its time at the United States Department of Defense (DOD) Energy & Power Summit in Washington D.C. GE Vernova #AdvancedResearch, along with GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy and GE Vernova's Electrification businesses GE #GridSolutions, was on-hand to talk with military energy leaders about how GE Vernova’s breakthrough R&D can help the DOD execute their vision for a clean #energy future. Our discussions spanned four key areas of innovation: Microgrids – Microgrids are localized energy systems that can operate independently or in conjunction with the main grid. GE Vernova is working to unlock new microgrid potential through autonomous coordination, scalability, #CyberSecurity, and dynamic utilization. #RenewablePower Generation – Lower carbon methods of electricity generation can augment current production methods. GE Vernova Advanced Research is exploring technologies to enable more efficient small modular reactors, #WindTurbine evolution, and breakthrough #CarbonCapture #technology. Future Fuels – GE Vernova is working to show that robust, low-cost power-to-liquid conversion is possible by coupling solid oxide co-electrolysis cells with direct air capture for CO2 sourcing and #NuclearEnergy for electricity and heat. Energy storage – GE Vernova is working to deliver advanced technologies to support short and long duration energy storage technologies, controls, #PowerConversion, and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology that can make DOD energy installations more reliable and resilient. Algeria’s population is growing– and their grid infrastructure needs to keep up. ⚡ Through a major order from sonelgaz, GE Vernova will supply GE Algerian Turbines (#GEAT) with high voltage equipment, components, and grid automation solutions. The equipment will be supplied to 134 substations, integrated at its Ain Yagout facility in Batna by 2028. The equipment will play a pivotal role in integrating renewable energy sources and ensuring a reliable power supply for #Algeria's growing population and economy. This is the first time high quality and advanced technology equipment will be produced in #Africa and is a testament to our commitment to advancing Algeria’s infrastructure.
